Description
19" (48 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass eyes with spiral threading and darker blue iris rims, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, brunette human hair wig over Steiner pate, French kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, lovely antique gown, undergarments and shoes. Condition: generally excellent, body very sturdy, head perfectly accommodates to bisque shoulderplate and appears to be all original. Marks: 1 (head) A La Mignonette/Poupees et Bebes, Mon. Guigue...(paper label front and back torso). Comments: French, circa 1875, the head is attributed to Jules Steiner, and the doll appears all original. Value Points: exquisite doll with very beautiful face and complexion, wonderfully-preserved body and costume.
