Description
9" (23 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque torso, brown glass sleep and side-glancing googly eyes, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with watermelon-slice shaped smile, brunette mohair bobbed wig, loop-jointed bisque arms and legs with starfish-shaped fingers and bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 131 - 21 (head) Germany 2126 - 21 (torso). Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt from their art character series, circa 1916. Value Points: rarest of the desirable 131 googlies is this all-bisque doll, in fine larger size, and wearing wonderful antique costume. The doll is featured in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 233.
