16" (41 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead, black painted pate under black mohair wig, painted blue outlined eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, kid poupee body with shapely waist. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1850. Value Points: the early doll is wearing its original exotic costume in the Turkish court style with silk harem pants, silk twill vest with gold edging, sash, slippers with paillettes, and jewelry.
