12" (30 cm.) All latex composition with socket head having well-defined modeling of features, blue eyes, brown lower eyeliner, black upper eyeliner, applied lashes, single stroke brows, closed mouth with edges of lips forming into smiling creases into the cheeks, brunette human hair, five-piece original body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dewees Cochran '63 (neck). Comments: Dewees Cochran, the celebrated NIADA artist created this one-of-a-kind portrait doll of young Sylvia Newell in 1963; a photograph of the actual young child who was its model is included. Value Points: especially fine example of Cochran work, the doll is wearing its original costume and has important provenance.
