Description
23" (58 cm.) h. x 25"w, x 13"d. The open-front store has unusual steeple-like shape with scalloped edging at the front above painted side curtains, and with curved wooden roof line, painted stonework at the outside back wall, and painted curtained windows at the exterior sides. The interior, with original brown/ochre painted finish features stenciled accent trim, and has a back wall with open bins, six drawers and niches below a faint lettered name "Au Comptan" (somewhat illegible). There is a separate matching wooden counter with built in scale. Original and well-preserved with some typical rubs. Early 1800s.
