Description
10" (25 cm.) Standing in a romantic scene is a handsome young couple posed in a romantic manner, their hands reaching toward each other but not touching, she gazing endearingly at him, each with elaborately-sculpted and decorated costumes and hats in vibrant colors with floral decorations, arranged upon a porcelain base sprinkled with porcelain flowers. Generally excellent. Marks: (blue bishop's staff stamp). Germany, Dressel & Kister, circa 1890, the early porcelain works served as inspiration for their half-doll series of 1910; note, for example this lady's bonnet which was also used for one of their half-doll models.
