12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden socket head with slender angular head and throat, inset brown enamel eyes, painted single stroke brows, closed mouth, lambswool wig, all-wooden body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, separately-sculpted fingers, carved detail of sandals. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental, late 1700s. Value Points: fine detail of muscular legs, posed fingers, rare swivel head.
