Condition: excellent. Mattel, 1959. Provenance: the doll was originally received by a young teenager in 1959, who, believing she was too old to play with dolls, hid it away for three years and then gifted it to the young daughter of a patient that her nurse-mother was tending. This second child, the still-present owner, cherished the doll, but never actively played with it as it was different, sophisticated and with far superior wardrobe than the dolls of her peers. The doll has remained, perfectly preserved with costumes and accessories, in the home of this owner. Included is childhood photo of original owner from the period. Wonderful state of preservation of an iconic doll.
