16" (41 cm.) Honey-toned poured wax shoulderhead of adult woman with slender face, elongated throat, modeled bosom, on padded and cloth wrapped armature form with attached cast metal stand, wax hands, stylized mohair wig. Condition: generally excellent, center panel silk is frail. Comments: French, circa 1915, from an exhibition of dolls created and presented to illustrate the splendor and artistry of French couture. Value Points: the doll is wearing her original attached patterned brocade gown with coral center panel, black stiffened lace edging, lace draped shawl with matching cuffs, fancy silk bonnet with feathers and lace. With original ink-script paper tag "Epoque Louis XVI 1781".
