16 1/2" (42 cm.) All-cloth doll with firmly-pressed and oil-painted stockinette head, unique light brown coiffure featuring wispy curls around the forehead and sides of face, two dimensionally-shaped ringlet curls at each sides of head and an attached cluster of windblown ringlet curls at the back crown, oil-painted complexion and facial features, brown downcast eyes with red and brown upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth, rosy cheeks, sateen cover on torso and upper limbs, oil-painted lower limbs, stitch-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, separately-stitched thumbs, antique velvet dress (somewhat frail, possibly original). Condition: excellent, fine original finish. Marks: (Chase logo on hip). Comments: Martha Chase, circa 1910, the doll is possibly one-of-a-kind, according to Nancy Smith notes.
