Description
18" (46 cm.) All-cloth doll with stiffened oil-painted facial features and brown hair in short bobbed fashion, painted large blue eyes with black outlined and thickly-painted upper lashes, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body with oil-painted hands and painted coral shoes, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, some light craquelure and rubs. Marks: The Ella Smith Doll Manufacturers of the Alabama Indestructible Baby, Roanoke Ala, Patent (illegible). Comments: Ella Smith, circa 1910. Value Points: hard-to-find bobbed hair variation, rarer coral shoes.
