Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, rose-blushed eyeshadow, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, slightly parted outlined lips, double row of teeth, carton torso and full length carton skirt which encloses mechanical mechanism. When wound the doll glides forward and in circles, raising arms and crying "mama". Condition: generally excellent, one finger tip broken, mechanism functions well. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1867. Value Points: especially large dramatic eyes enhanced by rich decoration, original wig, body, mechanism which functions well, and lovely antique costume.
