11" (28 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, mauve blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with scalloped edge, gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms. Condition: there is an old faint hairline at back of head with professional over-paint. Marks: 3/0 (head and shoulders). Comments: French, Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1878, the premiere Bru bebe. Value Points: very dear earliest bebe with splendid eyes, original body with perfect bisque hands.
