12" (30 cm.) Standing upon a tinplate base with three spoked wheels is a lady with paper mache swivel head, black enamel eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, two upper and two lower square cut teeth, blonde mohair wig with elaborate original coiffure, paper mache body with modeled bosom and waist, bisque hands. Condition: generally excellent, very light craquelure on forehead. Marks: Vichy a Paris. Comments: Vichy, Paris, circa 1850. Value Points: when wound, the elegant lady glides forward and circles while turning her head and lifting arms alternately; and having an especially beautiful coiffure and original costume of silk and handmade lace.
