15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with upturned lip corners in enigmatic smiling expression, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden poupee body with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles, ball swivel waist. Condition: generally excellent, slight touch-up at left pierced ear hole. Marks: E. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, the doll has his deposed wooden body of 1867, and deposed smiling facial model of 1872. Value Points: delicate complexion enhances the gentle expression on the sought-after model, with lovely antique costume including chatelaine and bonnet.
