Description
22" (56 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with darker iris rims, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset jointing at hips and knees, wooden arms with dowel-articulation at shoulders, elbows and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1870. Value Points: exceptionally beautiful example of the early portrait poupee, with finest bisque and painting, very fine body with rare wooden arms.
