Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with upturned lip corners in slight smile, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig in coiled braids with interwoven pearls, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, square-cut collarette, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. Comments: French, Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872 with deposed facial model of that year. Value Points: fine bisque and subtle painting of complexion and blush enhance the sought-after smiling expression, original sturdy Bru body.
