Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead depicting an elderly woman with wizened features and throat, enamel eyes, strong nose and chin, impressed wrinkles, brown sculpted center part hair waved loosely from face and gathered in coiled bun, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings and black shoes with red buckles, wearing original silk folklore costume with gold beaded necklace and embroidered detail of apron. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, exceptional detail of portraiture.
