12" (30 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head turned to the side, ebony black complexion, enamel eyes, sculpted short curly hair, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted grey stockings and brown shoes, wearing original royal costume comprising silk striped breeches, ivory silk jacket with pearl appliques and matching shirt, brocade tapestry collared cap, with metallic gilt braid border, sash, and royal turban with surmounting crown and pearl beading. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: all-original rare model with exceptional costume.
