The metal framed nest posed ads though supported by crossed branches is finished with rich gold leaf and decorated with tiny green leaves, presenting in the nest an opaline egg which hinges open to reveal silk lined interior with gilt miniature sewing tools. Excellent condition. French, mid-1800s, an exceptional luxury necessaire.
