German Bisque Figure of "Very Funny" Laughing Child

13" (33 cm.) Bisque figurine on self-base depicts a cheerful faced young child with sculpted short blonde hair waved onto his forehead, intaglio pale blue eyes, blushed shading around the eyes and cheeks, closed mouth modeled as though open and laughing, with row of painted teeth, sculpted smock and blue bow, on decorated base with original gilt lettered label "Very funny!". Generally excellent, original stamp on underside. Germany, circa 1890, a nearly identical bust with slight variation in costume detail is known which has the label "Very, very funny" (with no exclamation point).
