Description
30" (76 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, brushstroked brows, rich rose eye shadow, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined and shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig on cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mascotte M (head). Comments: May Freres, Paris, circa 1890, the model was registered in that year and made for two or three years only. Value Points: rare model is enhanced by very fine quality of bisque and painting, with especially choice detail of blush on eyelids, cheeks and chin, original body and body finish, wonderful antique boy's costume with cream wool double-breasted jacket and matching tan.
