18" (46 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with very plump face, painted blue eyes with darker blue iris rims, dark upper eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden fully-articulated body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles, and with swivel waist and swivel at mid-thighs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1860. Value Points: rare wooden body, painted eyes, and wearing early white pique gown with red soutache embroidery, red leather shoes and carrying little leather folio inscribed "Dr. Chance, A Merry Christmas from Beatrice".
