21" (53 cm.) The wooden secretaire features double-door cupboard above a slant-front writing desk, three wide drawers and two small pencil drawers which are fitted with bronze pulls. The slant front opens to a richly-fitted interior with various niches and cubicles, and the entire desk is decorated with romantic 18th century style scenes against an ochre-yellow painted finish. Excellent condition. From a series of maitrise model furniture, mid-1900s in the 18th century manner.
