13" (33 cm.) All-cloth doll with firmly-pressed and oil-painted stockinette head, painted dark brown textured complexion, painted very dark brown eyes with pronounced white eye dots, red upper eyeliner, black tinted brows, pointy-tip nose, closed mouth, impressed cheek dimples, black fleecy wig, brown sateen cover on torso and upper limbs, stitch-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Martha Chase, circa 1920, with unique facial modeling designed to portray young black child, and with original wig rather than painted hair. Value Points: charming small size of the rare black-complexioned child, wearing antique cotton romper suit.
