Description
66" (168 cm.) x 58". The carved wooden carousel horse has very fine detail of carving of mouth, nostrils, shape and pose of head and legs, with well-defined detail of carving of decorations, and having original leather harness and metal foot stirrups The horse was featured at the Stein-am-Rhein Puppenmuseum as a display centerpiece for the larger dolls, but is also a rare and treasured carved wooden masterpiece in itself. Generally excellent, structurally excellent, painting appears original but uncertain. Probably Germany, late 19th century. Ex-collection Stein am Rhein Museum.
