Description
16" (41 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead of lad with rounded facial shape, black painted hair with sculpted details and swirling curls around the forehead, large brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with hint of smile, firmly-stuffed muslin body, wooden lower arms. Condition: generally excellent, some retouch on face. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: wonderfully painted hair, wearing original unusual regimental costume including hat.
