Description
12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head with gesso and painted finish, sculpted and painted short blonde ringlet-curled hair, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, closed mouth, shapely-wooden torso with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, pewter lower arms and legs, painted black ankle boots. Condition: structurally excellent, finish is original albeit heavily scrubbed. Comments: Joel Ellis, Vermont, circa 1875. Value Points: sought-after American doll with unique construction.
