Description
14" (36 cm.) All-cloth doll with firmly-pressed and oil-painted facial features and hair, large blue outlined eyes, blushed cheeks, brown hair in bobbed style, muslin body, jointing at shoulders and hips, oil-painted finish on arms and legs, painted brown boots, cotton romper suit and undergarments. Condition: very good, original painted finish with some light craquelure. Comments: Ella Smith of Roanoke, Alabama, who created the distinctive doll in her cottage studio, circa 1910. Value Points: rare small size with original painted finish.
