Paper mache shoulderhead of adult woman with oval-shaped face and elongated throat, dramatically-sculpted hair with very full side poufs of curls and braided and coiled topknot, stippled detail of curls around the forehead, painted large blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted orange shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare early paper mache with original well-preserved finish and elaborate coiffure.
