14" (36 cm.) x 10" box. Presented within a firm-sided box with color-tinted engraving on the lid depicting women and children, labeled "The Lady Of London, Newest English Doll of Fashion" (in three languages) is fitted interior containing two 7 1/2" lady paper dolls, two 6" boy paper dolls, one 5 1/2" young girl paper doll, and one 4 1/2" baby paper doll. Each doll is of heavy stock and is double-sided, with bottom edging designed to fit inside wooden display bases (included). Along with the dolls are eleven double-sided costumes for the ladies, and thirteen double-sided costumes for the children, as well as a number of bonnets and head wear. Very good/excellent condition, one lady has bend at ankles, box edges are a bit frayed. Very rare set with exquisite costumes enhanced by original glazed finish, mid-1800s.
