All-wooden doll with socket head, carved and painted facial features, intaglio painted brown eyes with black upper eyeliner, black pupils and white eye dots, lightly-feathered brows, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair tacked-on bobbed hair, wooden spring-jointed body, holes in feet for posing. Condition: generally excellent, hands retouched. Marks: Schoenhut Doll Pat. Jan. '17, '11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, model 400, circa 1912. Value Points: fine original finish is well-preserved, wearing original mariner costume.
