Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with outlined lips and double row of teeth, carton torso and full length carton skirt which encloses the clockwork mechanism, hidden wheeled base. When wound the doll glides forward and in circles, raising and lowering the baby in her arms as though rocking her. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1867. Value Points: lovely antique costume, beautiful face with rich cobalt eyes, lovely antique costume of poupee and baby bunting.
