Description
9 1/2" (24 cm.) x 7" box. 7" doll. A double-sided paper doll depicting a young woman is presented along with her trousseau of double-sided wedding gown and other ensembles including evening party gowns, masquerade costumes, elegant salon dresses and folklore style costumes. There are thirteen costumes, many with attached variation wigs or coiffe and six additional bonnets. The set is preserved in original box with colorful engraving on the lid depicting the bride wearing one of the outfits included inside. The box is not labeled, but a very similar smaller set titled "La Coquette" was created in Paris, circa 1860, by Rousseau, printed by Jannin. Especially fine state of preservation of the rare paper doll.
