Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, distinctive neck articulation allowing the head to realistically tilt side-to-side and forward (as well as swivel), blue glass spiral-threaded eyes with darker iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid-over-wooden poupee body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, kid lower legs, bisque lower arms and hands, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1867, the poupee has 1866 deposed neck articulation of Auguste Alexandre Dehors that permitted a realistic and coquettish posing of the head. Value Points: rarity factors include intricate articulation of neck and kid-over wooden body with bisque hands on the distinctively-faced poupee.
