19" (48 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large blue glass paperweight eyes of great depth, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with lovely shading of lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French poupee body of padded stockinette over metal armature allowing infinite posing, bisque hands and lower legs, bare bisque feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5 (head and shoulders) Bebe Gesland Brevete SGDG (body). Comments: Gaultier with original deposed body by Gesland, circa 1875. Value Points: especially beautiful poupee with great depth of paperweight eyes, rare body with perfect bisque hands and feet, wonderful antique costume.
