Description
14" (36 cm.) Soft kidskin head and body, stitch-shaped face with dyed quills forming the eyes and painted mouth, long braided hair, and each wearing original elaborate costume of soft kidskin decorated with tinted quills and fringe, quill-formed moccasins, jewelry and accessories. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: created by Native American artist Tim Lammers of South Dakota whose study of native crafts has focused on the use of quill work whose designs preceded the later beading; his dolls reflect this appreciation. Value Points: rare pair are wonderfully created and preserved.
