15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden poupee body with shapely waist, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, and extra swivel jointing at mid-thighs and upper arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, Jumeau, circa 1875, the face of this wide-eyed era of poupee evolved into the first bebe model of Jumeau. Value Points: dainty petite size, rare brown eyes, wooden articulated body, and beautiful antique silk ensemble with extended train.
