15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid-over-wooden poupee body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, bisque lower arms and hands, wearing antique lingerie. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. (head and shoulders). Comments: French, Leon Casimir Bru, the firm's smiling deposed poupee, circa 1872. Value Points: especially lovely serene expression enhanced by finest bisque, original wig, beautifully modeled hands.
