12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, minor body touch-ups. Marks: 5. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1885, the doll was designed to emulate the popular French bebe in an attempt to capture that market. Value Points: appealing cabinet size and enhancing large brown eyes.
