Description
15" (38 cm.) Carved wooden socket head with painted and deeply sculpted facial features, blue intaglio eyes, white eye dots, rounded nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full petulant lips, all wooden fully-spring-jointed body. Condition: good, original condition with some scuffs on hair and lips. Marks: (Schoenhut incised mark). Comments: Schoenhut, the model was made from 1911-1912 only, marketed as "Tootsie-Wootsie". Value Points: among the rarest of the Schoenhut characters with excellent quality of sculpting, the costume may be original as shown in early advertisement photograph.
