17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, wooden poupee body with stretched kid cover including "baggy leg" kid cover at upper thighs, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, bisque forearms, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments. French, circa 1862, rare original body from the 1862 deposed design of Marie Emmanuel Cruchet, as shown in The Panorama of Parisienne Dolls by Theimer, page 217. Value Points: beautiful model doll with deluxe construction of body; the model is rarely found and was likely made for one or two years only in limited numbers and offered only in exclusive doll boutiques such as that of Terrene on Rue du Marche St. Honore.
