Description
3" (8 cm.) Gedescope. 5" x 3" box. Within an original box labeled "Pantheon de la Guerre, Grand Panorama National, 148 Rue de L'Universite 148 Paris" is fitted an optical instrument labeled "Gedescope Brevete SGDG" along with 20 framed miniature photos for viewing through the instrument. The actual Pantheon was a monumental mural depicting scenes in Paris during WWI, measuring 402 feet in circumference. The story of the Pantheon is remarkable, particularly of interest to doll collectors since one of the two creators was Pierre Carrier-Belleuse, son of Albert Carrier-Belleuse who had sculpted the Bebe Triste.
