Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes with darker iris rims, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with upturned lip corners, outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing, nicely costumed in embroidered white gown. Condition: generally excellent, few kid repairs on body. Marks: E. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his deposed smiling model poupee, circa 1872. Value Points: especially fine quality of bisque, modeling and painting of features especially around the smiling lips.
