Description
18" (46 cm.) Pair of dolls depicting seaside village elderly man and woman, each with stitch-shaped and hand-painted facial features including brown eyes, detailed wrinkles, blush, ruddy nose and cheeks, each with white mohair wig, firmly-stuffed cloth body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Made in Italy (sole of shoes). Comments: Italy, Yvonne Spaggiari, circa 1930, the dolls were made in the manner of French artist Bernard Ravca of the same era. Value Points: pristine state of preservation, wonderful artistry, wearing original costumes and accessories.
