Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair bobbed wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, straight wrists, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1885, the doll closely resembles early French bebes whose market it sought to capture. Value Points: pretty wide-eyed child with delicate blush of eyelids and cheeks.
