15" (38 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead of gentleman with sculpted black top hat perched atop brown hair with deeply-defined sideburns, painted brown eyes, black eyeliner, sculpted moustache, cloth body, porcelain lower limbs, black painted boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: MDT 54. Comments: fashionable gentleman of the 1840 era is depicted by the famed American artist, Martha Thompson. Value Points: rare model by the esteemed artist, wearing original foppish costume of his era created by Martha Yeske. The doll was acquired by its present owner nearly 60 years ago from Mrs. Yeske and has remained in her possession until now.
