Description
23" (58 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, brown sculpted hair with softly waved curls combed behind her pierced ears into two loosely woven braids at the back of her head, black sculpted ribbon at the crown, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line, original muslin body with bisque lower limbs, nicely shaped hands, painted tan boots with black accents. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1870, the model appeared as either shoulderhead or this rarer variation with swivel head. Value Points: distinctive and hard to find features include brown hair, sculpted hair bow, glass eyes, original body and body limbs, and rare size; the very beautiful doll is wearing fine white pique embroidered gown.
