Description
18" (46 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head with flat-cut neck socket on bisque shoulderplate, deposed locking devise allowing the head to turn realistically only side-to-side (rather than complete swivel), cobalt blue glass inset eyes with dreamily-shaped heavy eyelids, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, un-pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque arms to above the elbows, cupped fingers with defined nails. Condition: generally excellent, tip chipped on right baby finger. Marks: Au Passage Delorme/Rue de Rivoli, Simonne Paris... (stamp on torso). Comments: the poupee was presented by the prestigious Maison Simonne, circa 1865. Value Points: with very rare neck articulation system, luxury body with exquisitely sculpted bisque hands, very beautiful face whose pale bisque is dramatized by brilliant blue eyes, original wig, and beautiful original silk costume, undergarments, heeled boots.
