Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accent dots at eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth in solemn expression with accent line between the lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, original composition and wooden body with eight-loose-ball-joints, flat-cut derriere and straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SCH (in shield) 4. Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value Points: uniquely modeled face by this firm, with original body, the bebe is wearing lovely antique wool-blend brown dress with rose silk gathered center panel and lace trim, rose silk bonnet, leather shoes, undergarments.
